getting to the start

Richmond Park, Roehampton Gate, SW15 5JR

  • If you live near South West London, you will probably find it easiest to cycle to the event. Please use roads outside the park or the Tamsin Trail (a cycle track around the park) as the main park roads will be closed for the event. Please note: The Tamsin Trail will only be open to cyclists travelling to the Event Village to take part in the event & will be closed to all non-event cyclists on event day.

  • The event is located just 30 minutes from Central London, with easy vehicle access from the A3 and the A205 South Circular. Travelling from further afield, the M3 and M4 provide access from the west.

    Car parking is provided in the official event car park at Sheen Gate (SW14 8BJ). All parking spaces for this are sold preevent on a first come first serve basis.

    Separate communications will be sent to all participants regarding the opportunity to claim on-site car parking. There is NO other car parking available near Roehampton Gate or any other car park in Richmond Park. You can find details of other nearby car parks below:

    • Sheen Lane Centre car park, SW14 8LP (1.2 miles)

    • Paradise Road multi-storey car park, TW9 1SQ (2.1 miles)

    • NCP Richmond Station, TW9 1DN (2.6 miles)

      If you have purchased parking, you will have been sent details, which include your booking reference number which you require to access the car park on-site.

  • Bikes can be taken on the London Overground, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City Line Tube services on event day, please refer to https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/ cycles-on-public-transport

  • Bikes can also be taken on South West Trains services, which service all of the overground stations within the vicinity of Richmond Park. These stations are Twickenham, St. Margaret’s, Richmond, North Sheen, Mortlake, Barnes Bridge, Barnes and Putney.

    Please be aware of your route and travel time to ensure you leave sufficient time to make your race start. Nearby Stations Walking/cycling routes to Roehampton Gate, Richmond Park from nearby train stations:

    • From Barnes Station (approx. 1 mile) – National Rail

    • From Richmond (approx. 2.5 miles) – National Rail, District Line, Overground

    • From Mortlake (approx. 1.4 miles) – National Rail

  • Take National Rail or the District Line to Richmond Station and then catch the 371 bus to get to Richmond Park Gate. Both the 371 and the 65 buses go to the pedestrian gate at Petersham. The 170 bus travels from Victoria and Clapham Junction to Danebury Avenue, Roehampton – a short walk to Richmond Park.

RICHMOND PARK

London Duathlon is set in stunning Richmond Park, the largest of London's Royal Parks. Complete with ancient woods, rolling hills and wide-open grasslands this is the perfect place to run, bike, run. Catch sight of the historic herds of deer as your route takes in the famous Tamsin Trail and loops the Deer Park and Pen Ponds. It's no wonder that the park is London's largest Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve - there's nowhere better to experience the great outdoors so close to the capital.

 

ENJOY THE EVENT VILLAGE

At the heart of the event, is our Event Village. London Duathlon will be more than just a race day for our duathletes! It will be an exciting day out for friends, family and local supporters. Bring a picnic or enjoy food and drink from one of our vendors as you cheer and celebrate together.

 

MEDALS, T-SHIRTS AND PHOTOS

All finishers will receive a beautiful medal and t-shirt to commemorate your achievement. Our official photography partner will be taking your snaps on course, as well as at the finish line. Purchase your photos in the days after the race or purchase them pre-event.
